The Chicago Bears have come to terms with who will be the starting conerback this sunday against the Detroit Lions. That player will be
Charles Tillman. On Friday, coach Marc Trestman said he was “reasonably optimistic” that Tillman would play, according to ChicagoBears.com.
After being listed as questionable on the injury report with knee and groin problems that occurred during the win against the Pittsburgh Steelers last Sunday, Tillman will be expected to shutdown Detroit’s all-pro receiver, Calvin Johnson. Johnson had eight catches and 106 yards in the two games against Chicago last season.
Tillman, 32, has 14 tackles and two interceptions this season. He hasn’t missed a start since the 2009 season . Tillman was limited at practice on Friday after sitting out Wednesday and Thursday.
