Rule number 1 when punting or kicking to the Chicago Bears, never let the ball go to Devin Hester.
The Redskins must have forgot about who was in the back field returning kicks, as Hester’s 81-yard punt return against Washington resulted in a score which tied the game up at 17 in the second quarter. This return touchdown results in Hester’s 19th of his NFL career, which equals Deion Sanders’ league-record mark.
Hester’s big play was another tough moment for Washington’s embattled special teams, which had all sorts of problems with the Cowboys’ Dwayne Harris in last week’s loss at Dallas.
Hester’s return was a highlight in a roller-coaster half for the Bears, who lost quarterback Jay Cutler to an injury in the second quarter.
