When Jay Cutler went down on Sunday, the Bears started moving up their depth chart, including a possible signing.

Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that the Bears are considering bringing back  Jordan Palmer in the wake of Cutler’s injury. Palmer has spent a couple of weeks with the team this summer after Matt Blanchard, the expected third-string quarterback, was injured.

The younger brother of Cardinals quarterback Carson Palmer played in four games over three years as his brother’s backup in Cincinnati. Jordan also spent time with the Jaguars last season.

Josh McCown, who was called in after cutler was injured, played well in relief. Throwing for 204 yrds with an average of 10.5. and 1 touchdown. He also ran for 33 yrds. If the injury to Cutler is as bad as some think, Palmer could be in position to provide relief in the coming weeks.
