So we all know that Christian Ponder will probably be the starting quarterback for the Vikings this Sunday. So why is Josh Freeman possibly going to practice this Friday.
After being diagnosed with a concussion on Wednesday, and continuing to struggle with symptoms from the effects, why is he being cleared to possible practice this week.
Head Coach Leslie Frazier said Thursday that Freeman could return to practice on Friday, but that Freeman won’t dress on Sunday.
It’s not a shock. With a concussion suffered on Monday night and with Freeman missing practices at a time when he definitely needs to practice, it makes no sense for him to play. If the Vikings plan to have him as a quarterback of the future, they should keep him out of practice until next week to play it safe.

Hunter why don’t they start Cassel ?
Ponder has had relative success against the Packers, so Minnesota hopes this trend will continue. Also, they could be thinking about getting as bad of a record as possible for a high draft pick in a quarterback rich draft.
Do the Vikings take to the first round to draft a QB?
I’d think so. Unless they think that Freeman is a possible choice for future. I’d be shocked if they went with Ponder and or Cassel
