The Minnesota Vikings have  promoted their  first-year tight end, Chase Ford from their practice squad this Saturday.

This move gives Minnesota three healthy tight ends for Sunday’s game vs. Green Bay with reserve Rhett Ellison(ankle) ruled out for Week Eight. Ford, who has been on the practice squad all season, provides depth behind Kyle Rudolph and John Carlson.

The 23-year-old Ford has had stints on the Cowboys’ and Eagles’ practice squads. He is a Miami (Fla.) product.

In a corresponding transaction, the Vikings waived defensive end Justin Trattou.
