The Minnesota Vikings will be sticking with newly promoted Josh Freeman as their quarterback for Week Eight, but they’ve decided to make a change at cornerback.

The Vikings announced Tuesday that they’ve claimed Shaun Prater, and then promptly released Jacob Lacey. To be the Giants, as he didn’t play in the game. It’s also has no bearing on anything Lacey did in any other Vikings game since the team had just added him to the roster late last week.

Prater was waived by the Eagles on Monday when they signed linebacker Emmanuel Acho off of the Giants’ practice squad. Prater played one game for the Eagles, who claimed him off of waivers from the Bengals at the end of the preseason.

Prater will join a Vikings secondary that has allowed opposing passers to complete 65.5 percent of their passes this season, so there should be an opportunity for him to get on the field at some point this season.
