The  Green Bay Packers were paying Scott Tolzien like a member of the 53-man roster. Now he’s on it.

According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, Tolzien will be promoted from the Packers  practice squad to their active roster after star quarterback Aaron Rodgers broke his collarbone in Monday Nights battle against the Chicago Bears.

Seneca Wallace, who is the starter for at least the near-term, was the only other quarterback on the active roster last night.

Tolzien is familiar to local fans, leading Wisconsin to the Rose Bowl his senior year. He spent time with the Chargers and 49ers before making his back to the Midwest, where he’s now a play away from taking the field.
